Intensive technical and market due diligence study for a leading venture capitalist.
Situation
Alchemy Beteiligungsberatung GmbH are based in Frankfurt, and are consultants to the Alchemy Partners private equity group. During an investment appraisal exercise, Alchemy GmbH asked Charteris to carry out a technical due diligence exercise on a German Content Management System (CMS), both from a product and vendor perspective, to investigate and report on the marketplace into which it was being offered, and the likely prospects of success.
Charteris' Role
Charteris carried out a four-day due diligence exercise on the technical quality of the CMS product, examining its existing and planned functionality, the product development process, and providing an independent assessment of the skills of key members of the management team. Charteris also provided a current assessment of the overall US & European marketplace into which this product was being sold.
Solution
Charteris' due diligence report was quickly accepted by Alchemy. The report provided the essential technical & market background to the potential opportunity, as a critical part of the overall investment appraisal.
