East London Bus Company

Goals

When the East London Bus Group was acquired from Stagecoach by a consortium led by Macquarie Bank, it wanted to start to control its own destiny as quickly as possible. However, before the bus company could operate independently, it had to fill big gaps in its core systems and processes. It wanted to implement its own systems and processes quickly - but at the same time, it realised that it had to consider its requirements very carefully to ensure that the needs of the new business would be met.

Charteris' Role

Charteris was appointed to assist East London Bus Group in the definition of requirements, the liaison with suppliers and the design of processes. The consultants also provided practical hands-on support with configuring and integrating solutions. In addition, they supported testing, data migration and go-live planning.

Results

Charteris focused East London Bus Group's deadlines and ensured that all new systems were delivered exactly on time. The company now has very flexible, integrated workflows that enable it to operate efficiently and professionally. As well as replacing the systems that it lost when it separated from Stagecoach, the Group has also been able to successfully introduce additional capabilities. The project met the objectives of the business - and did so under budget.
