Situation
Microsoft UK invited Charteris to participate in "The Government Gateway" project. This project was instigated by the Cabinet Office as part of the UK Online initiative. An extremely high profile project, the portal has a potential user base of up to 20 million people, which would make it one of the largest e-commerce sites in existence.
Solution
It was the worlds largest Microsoft BizTalk Server implementation and is based entirely on .NET Server technologies, including Windows Server, Commerce Server, and SQL Server.
Delivery was on time and on budget, drawing personal thanks from Microsofts Project Director Andrew Reid: "The Government Gateway project required leading edge technology; it also required leading edge developers to make the vision a reality.
