Worcestershire County Council

Goals

Worcestershire County Council had just gone live with a new case management system, called frameworki, from Corelogic, within its Adults and Community Services Department. The implementation had gone smoothly, however, the council wanted to be absolutely certain that the reports generated by the new system were accurate and complete. The council feared that its performance statistics might fall in the first few months, while people got used to inputting and extracting data using the new system - and this would send out the wrong message to customers.

Charteris' Role

Charteris was appointed to validate the data from frameworki, to ensure its accuracy. In addition, the firm was asked to advise the council about how best to collect and compile data for performance reporting. Consultants from Charteris helped the council to gain a much deeper understanding about which particular datasets were required. They then used Microsoft technology that the council already had in-house to build a bespoke programme for automatically compiling data for performance reports.

Results

Worcestershire County Council now has complete confidence in the reports generated by frameworki and is able to collate data for performance reporting much more quickly. A data collection process that used to take three weeks at the end of each year can now be accomplished in a few days. As they no longer need to spend so long collecting data, council employees can now invest more of their time in analysing and using the data to help deliver a better service to customers.
