Case Study Summary
As part of a major change programme Charteris provided a programme manager to manage the introduction of a comprehensive and consistent security solution for web-based access to a wide range of customer and staff-facing banking applications. The delivered solution was based on an industry leading product.
Situation
The client was undertaking major change programmes to further improve its cost income ratio:
- providing direct access to its banking services for corporate customers
- introducing imaging and workflow systems to permit relocation and workload sharing between customer service centres
- providing direct access to a range of administration and service systems for the client’s over 100,000 staff
Many of these changes involved the introduction of web-based applications for which a comprehensive and consistent security solution was required.
Charteris Role
Charteris provided a programme manager to oversee the development and implementation of the security solution based on an industry leading product selected by the client.
Solution
The Charteris programme manager was responsible for:
- identifying stakeholders and putting in place appropriate governance
- ensuring adequate business buy-in to what had been seen as a technology infrastructure programme
- steering the programme through a major re-scoping exercise
- gaining the product vendor’s commitment to successful implementation
- overseeing the design, development, testing and implementation of the solution
