Commercial Relationships
Getting the commercial relationship right is a critical early step on the path to successful programme and project delivery. Our unique blend of technology expertise and legal and contractual experience is an invaluable resource for public sector clients.
A vital factor determining the success or failure of technology-enabled change is the contract between the department, authority or NDPB and its IT or IS supplier. The schedules of the contract, capturing the client's requirements and the supplier's proposals for meeting them, are at least as important as the terms under which the contract is let but often receive much less attention.
Working alongside partners from the leading law firms, our experienced commercial experts help clients make business sense of complicated commercial agreements and advise on how best to establish and manage relationships with suppliers. We also work with clients to help disengage where a supplier relationship has reached the end of its useful life.
Many of our team are asked to work as independent court experts in commercial disputes between suppliers and their clients. This experience, gained both on the supplier side and on the client side, is invaluable to government in its engagement with supply organisations.
