Education, Health & Social Care

One of the biggest recent changes in local government has been the effective de-merger of Adult Social Services and Children's Services, taking the former towards the local provision of health services and the latter towards the provision of educational services. Such fundamental change in a local authority's organisation and responsibilities, coupled with the emphasis places by the government's Comprehensive Performance Analysis (CPA) process, driving performance improvements in these areas, requires significant experience in implementing organisation change.

  • Charteris provides consultancy and business intelligence services aimed at maximising the essential Performance Indicators (PIs) associated with the provision of adult and children's services, supporting the aims of the CPA process. Charteris' expertise ranges from the provision of advice on reporting requirements and PIs, through to implementation and tuning of the supporting business intelligence systems.
  • Charteris provides client-side requirements capture, definition and technical design services and is currently employed on one of the most important information sharing schemes being implemented by central government, ContactPoint (previously known as the Information Sharing Index).
  • Charteris has undertaken the position of 'prime' for delivery of case management systems for children's and adult's services, utilising best of breed systems and applying our acknowledged expertise in project and programme management to ensure such systems are in place within the demanding timescales typical of this type of work.

We have undertaken work for a variety of local government organisations, including Ealing, Harrow, Wandsworth, Greenwich and Wiltshire Councils (see case studies).
